Their uniquely shaped head gives them 360-degree vision and enhanced ability to detect electrical signals from prey hidden in the sand.

Named for the dark stripes on their body, tiger sharks are known as the "garbage cans of the sea" because they'll eat almost anything!

A rare deep-sea shark called a "living fossil" β€” their lineage dates back 125 million years. Their jaw can extend outward to catch prey!

Around 100 million sharks are killed every year, and many species are now endangered. Sharks are vital to healthy ocean ecosystems β€” as apex predators, they keep marine food webs in balance. Without sharks, our oceans would suffer catastrophic decline.

I'm absolutely obsessed with sharks and the ocean. From the mighty great white to the tiny lantern shark, every species is fascinating to me. I'm currently working towards my PADI Open Water certification so I can finally meet these incredible animals in their natural habitat!
